Project Description
This project involved the extension of a live milk drying plant to provide additional production capacity.
The new 30,000 sq. ft centre has doubled the site’s capacity, making the firm one of the biggest producers of dairy products in the UK.
It also represents one of the single biggest investments in the Northern Ireland dairy industry in recent years.
The project entailed the construction of a 30m tall production hall with large plant loads, explosion ducts and stainless steel floors with site roads and lorry yard.
The building solution is a heavy duty steel spanning 18m clear between columns. Foundation loadings are dealt with using insitu reinforced concrete pads integral with the ground floor slab.
Reinforcement and steelwork were complex and we provided site supervision to ensure that the construction complies with the client’s requirements.
